Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
