And when the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 he said, "You are strangers [to me]." 62 They said: nay! we have come to thee with that whereof they have been dubitating. 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 “Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them – and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to.” 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 [Lot] said: "[Take instead] these daughters of mine, if you must do [whatever you intend to do]!" 71 By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. 74 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the prudent ones. 75 it is still there on the highway -- 76 Verily in that is a sign for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 On them, too, We took vengeance, and they are both on a clear roadway. 79

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
