Hizb 46

Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 He abandoned his people 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.) 142 Now had he not been of those that glorify God, 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a bare desert whilst he was sick. 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 " Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 except those who will burn in Hell. 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 They used to say: 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 that they shall receive Our help 172 and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
