We built the heavens by Our authority; and We are the Lord of power and expanse. 47 and We cradled the earth. And We are the Best of Cradlers. 48 and We created pairs of all things so that you might reflect. 49 So turn to God. I give you a clear warning from Him. 50 And set not up another god with Allah; verily I am unto you from Him a warner manifest. 51 Thus there did not come to those before them an apostle but they said: A magician or a mad man. 52 Have they, perchance, handed down this [way of thinking] as a legacy unto one another? Nay, they are people filled with overweening arrogance! 53 so ignore them, you are not to blame, 54 And admonish, for verily admonition profiteth the believers. 55 And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). 56 I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me. 57 Verily, Allah is the All-Provider, Owner of Power, the Most Strong. 58 And indeed for these unjust is also a turn of punishment, like that of their companions – so they must not ask Me to hasten. 59 Woe, then, betide those who disbelieved in that Day of theirs which they are being asked to hold in dread. 60
