Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 in a lofty Garden 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Would it had been the end! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
