The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
