The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 when Shuaib said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 191
