Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha. Mim. 1 A revelation from [God], the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful -- 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are encased against that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us, so do as you will and so shall we." 5 Tell them, (O Prophet): “I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is One God; so direct yourselves straight to Him, and seek His forgiveness. Woe to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity, 6 Those who practise not regular Charity, and who even deny the Hereafter. 7 Surely those who believe, and do righteous deeds shall have a wage unfailing.' 8
