Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 and the partitioners, 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They slept very little during the night 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
