So did you observe him who turned away? 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
