Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 storming tempestuously 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 for an appointed term? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
