And if they belie you, say: "For me are my deeds and for you are your deeds! You are innocent of what I do, and I am innocent of what you do!" 41 Some of them appear to be listening to you; but can you make the deaf hear, incapable as they are of understanding? 42 Some of them look fixedly at you; but can you make the blind see, bereft as they are of sight? 43 God does not do the least bit of injustice to anyone but people wrong themselves. 44 And on the Day when He shall gather them [unto Himself, it will seem to them] as if they had not tarried [on earth] longer than an hour of a day, knowing one another; [and] lost indeed will be they who [in their lifetime] considered it a lie that they were destined to meet God, and [thus] failed to find the right way. 45 And whether We shew thee some of that which We have promised them, or We cause thee to die, unto us is their return, and Allah is witness of that which they do. 46 A Messenger is appointed for all people. When the Messenger for them came he judged among them fairly and they were not wronged. 47 And they say: When will this threat come about, if you are truthful? 48 Say, "I have no control over any harm or benefit to myself, except by the will of God. For every people, however, there is an appointed term. When the end of their term arrives, they cannot postpone it for an hour, nor can they advance it." 49 Say, “What is your opinion – if His punishment comes upon you at night or during the day, so what is there in it for which the guilty are being hasty?” 50 Will you, then, believe in it [only] after it has come to pass - [on the Day when you will be asked, 'Do you believe in it] now, after having [contemptuously] called for its speedy advent?' 51 Then it shall be said to those who were unjust: Taste abiding chastisement; you are not requited except for what you earned. 52 And they ask information of you, [O Muhammad], "Is it true?" Say, "Yes, by my Lord. Indeed, it is truth; and you will not cause failure [to Allah]." 53
