Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinns listened (to this Quran). They said: 'Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recital (this Quran)! 1 guiding towards consciousness of what is right; and so we have come to believe in it. And we shall never ascribe divinity to anyone beside our Sustainer, 2 our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. 3 and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 'True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jinns, but they increased them in folly. 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 And among us there are righteous folk and among us there are far from that. We are sects having different rules. 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 'But those who swerve,- they are (but) fuel for Hell-fire'- 15 And proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that ‘Had they remained upright on the straight path, We would have given them abundant water.’ 16 ‘In order to test them with it; and whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord – He will put him in a punishment that keeps on increasing.’ 17 and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; 18 When the servant of God stood calling on Him, they were wellnigh upon him in swarms. 19
