Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
