Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 Honorable recorders, 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell), 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 It is the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another, and all command shall be Allah's. 19
