(Recount to them about the time) when Your Lord called Moses: "Go to the wrong-doing people, 10 the people of Pharaoh, who refuse to be conscious of Me!" 11 He said: O my Lord! surely I fear that they will reject me; 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they shall slay me. 14 Said He: "Not so, indeed! Go forth, then, both of you, with Our messages: verily, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]! 15 "So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: 'We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds; 16 That you should send the children of Israel with us.' 17 He said, 'Did we not raise thee amongst us as a child? Didst thou not tarry among us years of thy life? 18 And you commited what you did, and you are ungrateful!" 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me and made me one of the Messengers. 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 He said: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure. 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 Said Moosa, “Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers preceding you.” 26 [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad." 27 He said, “The Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them; if you have sense.” 28 Said he: If you will take a god besides me, I will most certainly make you one of the imprisoned. 29 He said: Even though I show thee something plain? 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 He cast down his staff and thereupon it was a clear serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
