Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 By the Scripture which maketh plain, 2 We have indeed sent it as a Qur’an in the Arabic language, so that you may understand. 3 And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom. 4 So shall We divert the advice away from you, because you are a nation that exceeds the limits? 5 And how many a prophet did We send to people of olden times! 6 but not a Prophet came to them, without they mocked at him; 7 We therefore destroyed the people who were more forceful than these, and the example of the earlier ones has already gone by. 8 If you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will answer: "The Mighty and All-knowing created them," 9 [The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 He Who created these pairs, all of them, and provided you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 surely unto our Lord we are turning.' 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15
