So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
