The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and gently take it away; 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
