The Night (Al-Layl)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And the day resplendent 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 But save him who fears 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
