Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 And raiding at dawn 3 and raising clouds of dust, 4 cleaving there with a host! 5 Verily! Man (disbeliever) is ungrateful to his Lord; 6 and surely he is a witness against that! 7 And violent is he in his love of wealth. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not - when that which is in the graves shall be ransacked? 9 And that which is (locked up) in (human) breasts is made manifest- 10 surely on that day their Lord shall be aware of them! 11
