NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 When the two angels meet together, sitting one on the right, and one on the left, 17 Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it). 18 The trance of death will come revealing the truth: that is what you were trying to escape. 19 The trumpet will be sounded. This is the Day [you were] warned of. 20 Every soul will be accompanied (by an angel) behind him and another as a witness. 21 You were heedless of this, but now We have removed your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared." 23 It will be said to the angels, “Both of you fling every excessive ungrateful, stubborn person into hell.” 24 [every] withholder of good [and] sinful aggressor [and] fomentor of distrust [between man and man - everyone] 25 Who had set up another god with God. Cast him into severe torment." 26 ۞ His companion will say: "O Lord, I did not lead him to wickedness, but he was himself far astray." 27 He shall say, 'Dispute not before Me! For I sent you beforehand -- the threat. 28 The Word cannot be changed with Me; I do not wrong My worshipers' 29
