Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. 29 Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?" 30 say [to them], "Wait then: I too am waiting along with you!" -- 31 is it their minds that prompt them [to say] this, or are they merely insolent people? 32 Or say they: he hath fabricated it: aye they will not believe. 33 Then let them bring an announcement like it if they are truthful. 34 Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Or is it they who created the heavens and the earth? No; the truth is that they lack sure faith. 36 Or do they own the treasures of thy Lord? Or have they been given charge (thereof)? 37 Or do they have a ladder whereon they can climb and attempt to listen (to what is transpiring in the Higher Realm)? Then, let any of them who has listened to it produce a clear proof of it. 38 Does God have daughters while you have sons? 39 Or askest thou a hire from them so that they are with debt laden? 40 Or [do they think] that the hidden reality [of all that exists] is almost within their grasp, so that [in time] they can write it down? 41 Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war. 42 Or have they any god beside Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! 43 If they should see a part of the heavens falling down, they would say, "A mass of clouds," 44 Leave them then till they meet that day of theirs wherein they shall be made to swoon (with terror): 45 A day in which their guile will naught avail them, nor will they be helped. 46 Surely there are other torments besides this for those who are wicked, though most of them do not know. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad SAW) for the Decision of your Lord, for verily, you are under Our Eyes, and glorify the Praises of your Lord when you get up from sleep. 48 And glorify Him in the night and when the stars begin to wane. 49
