The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 On a Great Day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 NAY, VERILY, the record of the wicked is indeed [set down] in a mode inescapable! 7 And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is? 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Ah the woe that day for those who deny, 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!” 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 Nay! Surely, they (evil-doers) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day. 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 Indeed the record of the virtuous is in the highest place, the Illiyin. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those nearest (to Allah, i.e. the angels). 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 upon couches gazing; 23 On their faces you will see the glow of beatitude. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 and when they saw the believers, they said: “Lo! These are the erring ones”; 32 (they said so although) they had not been appointed watchers over them. 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Will not the infidels pay for what they had done? 36
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
