3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 And said: "I am sick (of what you worship)!" 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
