Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In a lofty garden, 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
