Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day is it timed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
