The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 those who safeguard their chastity 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 Such are the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 And then you will certainly die, 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 And you are carried on them and on the ship. 22
