The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people together 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
