The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
