We have created the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 When I have formed him and breathed My spirit into him, fall down in prostration before him," 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?" 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 (Allah) said: "Then, get out from here, for verily, you are Rajim (an outcast or a cursed one)." [Tafsir At-Tabari] 34 and there shall be a curse upon you till the Day of Recompense." 35 He said: 'My Lord, reprieve me till the Day they are raised' 36 He said: Then lo! thou art of those reprieved 37 "Till the Day of the time appointed." 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 40 (To which God) said: "This way is right by Me. 41 “Indeed you do not have any power over My bondmen, except those wanderers who follow you.” (The devil is unsuccessful in tempting Allah’s chosen bondmen to commit sin.) 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 Seven gates it has, and unto each gate a set portion of them belongs.' 44
