The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day. 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
