The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 So that they shall be as scattered dust. 6 And ye are classes three. 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few of later ages, 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 As for those of the right hand -- how (happy) those of the right hand -- 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virgins. 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 For those on the right hand; 38
