In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 Nor given leave to make excuses. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 for an appointed time? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 for the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
