The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 And [by] the witness and what is witnessed, 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 [Containing] the fire full of fuel, 5 when they were seated around it 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 Of Firon and Samood? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 In fact it (what they deny) is the Noble Qur’an. 21 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)! 22
