Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 storming tempestuously 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 and yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
