The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WOE UNTO THOSE who give short measure: 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do such people not realize that they will be raised up, 4 On a Mighty Day, 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 It is a written book. 9 Woe, that Day, to those that deny- 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 a written record, 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, 22 On couches face to face. 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 though they were not sent to be their keepers -- 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
