Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 therein a running fountain, 12 raised couches, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
