The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Ruin is for every open slanderer, backbiter. 1 who collects and hordes wealth, 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the crushing torment. 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah, 6 Which rises above the hearts. 7 verily, it will close in upon them 8 in towering columns. 9
