Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 every soul will see the result of its deeds - those recorded before his death and those which will produce either virtue or evil after his death. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment, 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
