The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 or orders piety? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
