▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ NAY, I call to witness the coming-down in parts [of this Qur'an] 75 and, behold, this is indeed a most solemn affirmation, if you but knew it! 76 That this is indeed the glorious Qur'an 77 in a hidden Book 78 which none shall touch except the purified; 79 a revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 80 So is this the matter regarding which you laze? 81 You live by calling it a lie. 82 Why, then, when the soul leaps up to the throat, 83 the while you are [helplessly] looking on 84 and We are nearer to him than you, although you cannot see Us -- 85 If you are true to your claim that there is no Day of Judgment, 86 why can you not bring it (the soul) back (to life)? 87 And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah, 88 Then is relief, and flowers – and Gardens of peace. 89 And if he be of the Companions of the Right Hand, 90 'Peace be upon thee, Companion of the Right!' 91 If it is of those who have rejected the Truth and have gone astray, 92 then he will be served boiling water, 93 And roasting in a Blaze. 94 Verily, this! This is an absolute Truth with certainty. 95 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Great One. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
