Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 we fed not the needy, 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
