The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 The rising dawn, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
