O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do. 51 Your nation is but one nation, and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me. 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season. 54 Do they think that We enlarge them in wealth and children, 55 We are hastening them on to good things? Aye! they perceive not. 56 Verily, [only] they who stand in reverent awe of their Sustainer, 57 and those who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 And those who join not anyone (in worship) as partners with their Lord; 59 And those who give what they give and their hearts fear for they have to return to their Lord. 60 These hasten to good things and they are foremost in (attaining) them. 61 And We tax not any person except according to his capacity, and with Us is a Record which speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 On the contrary, their hearts are in neglect of this and their works are different than those of the believers, the works that they are doing. 63 But when We seize with the punishment those of them that live in ease, they groan. 64 We shall tell them, "Do not cry for help on this day; you will receive none from Us". 65 My communications were indeed recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels, 66 "In arrogance: talking nonsense about the (Qur'an), like one telling fables by night." 67 Have they not pondered over the word of God? Has something come to them that did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or is it, perchance, that they have not recognized their Apostle, and so they disavow him? 69 Or say they: "There is madness in him?" Nay, but he brought them the truth [i.e. "(A) Tauhid: Worshipping Allah Alone in all aspects (B) The Quran (C) The religion of Islam,"] but most of them (the disbelievers) are averse to the truth. 70 And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. 71 Or, is it that thou askest of them any maintenance? The maintenance of thy Lord is better, and He is the Best of providers. 72 And lo! thou summonest them indeed unto a straight path. 73 But those who do not believe in the Hereafter have indeed deviated from that path. 74 ۞ Were We to be merciful to them and remove from them their present afflictions, they would persist in their transgression, blindly wandering on. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 until, when We open against them a door of terrible chastisement, lo, they are sore confounded at it. 77
