Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 We glorify God." 166 And surely they used to say: 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
