Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
HaMeem. 1 By the Scripture which maketh plain, 2 We have indeed sent it as a Qur’an in the Arabic language, so that you may understand. 3 It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients. 6 Yet never did a Prophet come to them but they mocked him. 7 We utterly destroyed them although they were greater in might than these. The examples of ancient peoples have gone before. 8 (Muhammad), if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will certainly say, "The Majestic and All-knowing God has created them". 9 Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and placed roads for you therein, that haply ye may find your way; 10 And Who sendeth down from the heaven water in measure; then We quicken a dead land therewith: even so ye shall be brought forth. 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 "And to our Lord, surely, must we turn back!" 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
