Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In a lofty garden, 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
