Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
