The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
